The Sayadaws

Sayadaw_U_PannathamiSayadaw U Pannathami was born on May 27, 1948. He fully ordained as a monk at the age of 20.

Sayadaw U Pannathami had practiced meditation under illustrious masters, notably the late Venerable Mahasi Sayadaw and Sayadaw U Pandita. He is the resident teacher and the abbot of Panditarama Sydney and Melbourne Meditation Centre. Sayadaw speaks excellent English and has many years of experience in guiding mediators in the practice of Insight (Vipassana) meditation.

Sayadaw travels around the world to teach Vipassana meditation. In Europe, Sayadaw has taught in England, France, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Poland, Holland and New Zealand. In Asia, Sayadaw taught regularly in Singapore, Malaysia, Nepal, Taiwan and recently Korea. He also taught yogis in Canada and he substituted Sayadaw Gyi U Pandita to teach at Tathagata Meditation Center in San Jose for several years.

Sayadaw is well respected for his skillful guidance, loving-kindness and compassion.
